Reviews of NovoEd
Great Learning Platform Software
Comments: An excellent experience. Although changes and updates to the software could have been quicker. I believe this would have led us to stick with NovoEd
Pros:
I love the gammification that's provided and the easy layout with the UI. It made using this system easy to use.
Cons:
The Reporting. It leaves alot to be desired, it quite basic, there's no automated delivery option or scheduling which can help to run the platform.
Peer-to-peer learning
Comments: I "inherited" NovoEd and tried to make it work for our business model, but it just did not. The peer-to-peer communication was a high value to us - network building was one of the things that this platform does best. The financial model is not designed for resellers, small businesses or the nonprofit environment.
Pros:
The peer-to-peer learning features in NovoEd are exceptional. Building a community is native to the platform.
Cons:
There was no assessment feature and some transitions were clunky. Page types were limited.
Could be better
Pros:
I've used this product both as a student and a mentor, and it does a decent job of creating a virtual learning environment.
Cons:
There are a lot of bugs and confusing user experience flows. The feature overload makes it harder to guide students towards certain actions, and sometimes obfuscates what's important about the course.
Great for social learning and running synchronous courses!
Comments: If you want social learning but don't care as much about personalizing design/customization, this is a great choice!
Pros:
I enjoyed my time using NovoEd. It is a GREAT platform for social learning. Users can chat on course discussion boards, and the peer review component is excellent. I also love that users can view each others submissions (this can be turned on/off by admin) and comment on others work/get ideas.
Cons:
Not enough customization. You are really boxed in by the features they have available as far as course design (headers, page width, etc.) It made it really hard to embed any HTML5 or SCORM content in to the course because of the page margins were so small everything got smooshed. They're also still working out some bugs so sometimes you'll encounter a glitch that no one has heard of before and has to be sent for engineering to review.
Easy ro learn and to teach
Comments: I needed to teach interns and used NovoEd, it met my needs and I was very satisfied with my students' opinions.
Pros:
It doesn't crash like other meeting platforms, it meets the needs of those who don't need a huge infrastructure to teach and learn.
Cons:
It does not present a way to evaluate the students and sometimes it slows down, making comprehension a little difficult.
Overall positive experience
Pros:
I've found it to be easy for end-users to navigate and interact.
Cons:
Honestly, there are no known negatives for me.
